Local Lime :

a new taco and margarita bar in the Promenade at Chenal in West Little Rock

We are excited to be back again after another brief blogging break! Life is crazy busy, and we wish we could be full time bloggers, but until then we will update as much as possible. We still have many blogs to post from the West & Gulf coasts and locally as well. We will get them up for you as soon as we can.

We have been very excited about Local Lime, the new taco and margarita bar opening in West Little Rock, and wanted to end our blogging break by checking it out and writing a review.

We went this past Sunday during their opening weekend. We must say for an opening weekend things were up and running very smoothly. We were seated in the bar area and the bartenders were definitely on top of their game, a special shout out to George for taking such good care of us =). We started with the house ‘ritas, frozen and on the rocks with salt on the rim of course. Their house margs are made with fresh squeezed lime juice, cane sugar, and Tequila Resposado. They were tasty, & high on our list of best house margs. 

We paired our house margaritas with their fresh salsa. For $2.50 you get a choice of 3 different salsas with 6 to choose from. We chose the “Tres Chiles”, “Chipotle”, and the “House Tomato”.  All 3 of these were fresh and delicious.

Next we tried their “Tequila Fix” and “Texas Two Step”. Local Lime hit a HOMERUN with the “Texas Two Step”! You have the option of Puerta Negra Tequila or Del Maguey Mezcal. We opted for the tequila, it is mixed with basil, jalapeno, simple syrup and fresh lime juice. It had just the right amount of heat. Perfect!!

The “Tequila Fix” is a fabulous concoction of Lunazul Blanco, tequila, cilantro, pineapple juice, lemon & lime juices. You really can’t go wrong with a margarita with pineapple juice.

We paired these two margs with their made to order guacamole and yummy 3 cheese steak nachos. Their fresh guacamole is definitely up there with the best of them.
